Mug. It’s a verb, meaning to attack. And it’s a noun three times over, as an alternative to ‘face’, ‘fool’ and ‘cup’. It’s the latter that we’re most interested in here, specifically personalised mugs. They’re a great personalised gift, based on the fact they’re both fun and affordable. So here, we take a look at all things Manchester, with both Coronation Street mugs and Manchester United mugs under the microscope.Personalised Mug
Personalised Corrie mugs come in two different designs. Both are dishwasher and microwave safe and printed in full colour on a high quality, white, 10oz ceramic mug, with the first focussing on Weatherfield’s red bricks. This red-brick pattern features the Coronation Street sign on one side and the drinker’s choice of beverage on the other. Here, you can specify various tea, coffee and hot chocolate, the degree of ‘milkyness’ and the amount of sugar or sweetener.Keep Calm Mugs
The second of the personalised Coronation Street mugs follows exactly the same principle. The only difference being that instead of the red bricks, you’ve got a photo of the Rovers Return. Both mugs are completely official and fully endorsed by ITV, making them cooler than a cut-and-dry at Audrey’s hair salon.
And what about the Manchester United mugs? Just like Corrie, you’ve got a couple of styles to choose from. The first features a photo of United shirts hanging up in the dressing room. Alongside Giggs, Ferdinand, Rooney and Berbatov, is a shirt with your chosen name on it. Underneath the picture are the words, ‘Manchester United 2010/11 Premier League Winners’.Keep Calm Mugs
The second design actually has 12 different prints to pick from. Basically, they are all back-page reprints of famous Manchester United reports from the Daily Mirror. The selection available covers a range of eras, including that of Sir Matt Bubsy, the club’s 1983 FA Cup win over Brighton and plenty of more recent moments under Sir Alex Ferguson.
As you’d expect, there is also a massive selection of other personalised mugs to choose from. On the one hand you’ll find things like ‘moody’ and ‘emotion’ mugs, while on the other there’s officially licensed Loose Women, Dancing On Ice, I’m a Celebrity and Beano mugs. The name-in-image mugs, meanwhile, cleverly integrate the name into any one of 30 photos. Some of the more popular options include the Loveheart mug, various footy designs and numerous Sci-Fi versions. And, of course, DJ Dog also goes down a storm! Personalised Mug
